Community Church values children! We aim to teach and train them to love God and His Word through weekly Sunday school classes, mid-week Awana, Vacation Bible School every summer, and various other events. We try to keep everything fun, engaging, and exciting while keeping God’s Word at the center it all. Find us on Facebook at Community Kids.
In our Sunday morning early childhood program, we serve babies through kindergarten age, in three different groups: Babies: 0-2 years, Toddlers: ages 2 and 3, and our Pre-K/kindergarten classroom. In our nursery, the babies receive lots of love and cuddles. In the toddler room, we are just starting to introduce them to Bible stories, Sunday school songs, and social skills. The Pre-K/Kindergarten class learn all about different stories from the bible while forming new friendships with their peers. We want even our youngest children to feel safe, know God loves them, and learn that they are fearfully and wonderfully.
Our Elementary program is for the first through fourth graders who attend Community Church on Sunday mornings. For these kids, there are two options: in our 9:30 service they worship with their parents until they are dismissed to their classes as the sermon begins. In the 11:00 service, they get to attend Children’s Church, where they worship and learn together with kids their own age.
During the week, Community Church is proud to offer Awana to the children of the Susanville area. Awana meets on Thursday nights at 6, and is for children ages 3 through the 6th grade. At Awana, kids play games, sing songs, hear an age-appropriate Bible lesson, and work on memorizing Bible verses in a fun, safe environment. We’d love to see you there!
