Relaunch with COVID-19
Hello Forever Family,
It has been a long time since we have been together, and we all miss all of you. While we do not yet have a date when we will be able to meet together for church, we will continue to meet online each week at 9:00 am. We are writing you today to let you know what church will look like once we are back together. Here are the details:
Wellness: While we are excited to be back together worshipping as a church family, we realize that not all of you will feel comfortable being back at church the first time the doors are open. We completely understand that, and we want you to re-enter at your own pace. We will be excited to see you once you come back, but please know that we want it to happen when you are ready. In order to further facilitate a feeling of wellness and well-being, we are asking you to refrain from hugs, handshakes and high fives. Also, if you are ill, please stay home and join us online.
Venues: In the past six weeks we have come to realize what a valuable tool online worship services are, so we will continue to offer live online worship every Sunday. We will also have live church at 1400 Numa and also at our Uptown campus (65 S. Lassen).
Service Times: At 1400 Numa we will have live church services at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 am. At 65 S. Lassen we will have a “viewing party” of the live church service at 9:30 am. We will have live streaming worship services available online on Facebook, YouTube and on our church website each Sunday at 9:30 am.
Children: When we first come back to church kids are very welcome to join their families in the sanctuary for our regular worship services, where activities packets specially designed for them will be provided. Since it is virtually impossible to social distance children in a finite classroom, we will not offer nursery or children’s programs and activities until we are allowed to meet in groups of 50 without social distancing. Kate and Alice will continue to provide online content every week, which will be available on Facebook and our church website.
Students: When we first come back, we will not have in person ministry activities (Sunday School, youth group, outings) but as restrictions relax ministry activities will be added back into the schedule. Johnelle and her team will continue to provide content and connection on social media, Zoom and other creative venues.
Seating: When we first come back to church, our chairs will have extra distance between each row so that we can practice the 6-foot social distancing standard. As our government relaxes those restrictions, we will relax them as well.
Offering: When we first come back we will not be passing the offering plate. We will have two locked boxes at the back of the sanctuary and online and snail mail options are always available.
Communion: On the first Sunday of each month we will still be having communion. We will provide individual sealed communion sets for you, or you can always bring your own elements from home.
Greeters and Ushers: We will have greeters at the front doors to open them for you and to greet you as you enter the sanctuary. We will have a table where you can pick up a bulletin, and when we first come back together, we won’t be using nametags.
Altar: The Altar will be available for you to come to pray and/or worship. It will be wiped down and sanitized after each worship service.
DIG: DIG, which stands for “Delighting in God” is an adult Small Group Bible Study. It will continue to meet each Sunday at 9:30 am in the Great Room
Personal Protection Equipment: We will have masks, hand sanitizing stations and gloves available for those of you who choose to use them. You can also bring your own PPE from home. In between services we will completely wipe down and sanitize high- traffic areas of the church.
Grace and Peace,
